OUR VISION

This is a great place to add a tagline.

The textile and fashion industry is one of the most polluting industries in the world. In the production of leather, toxic substances are used that are harmful to humans and the environment. It takes about 17,000 litres of water to produce and process one kilogram of leather. SEA LEATHER is a water-saving, toxin-free, reusable, compostable and animal cruelty-free leather alternative made from algae. It is a versatile material that can be used to make clothing and accessories and potentially other products.

BEING PART OF AN ECOSYSTEM

SEA LEATHER not only uses one of the world's most renewable resources, but is committed to protecting marine ecosystems. Eutrophication, i.e., the over-enrichment of nutrients in water bodies, is creating dead zones.  Due to the lack of oxygen in these zones, life is no longer possible for marine life, which results in a decrease of biodiversity. However, algae are not only the problem, but also the solution. Certain types of algae can balance the nutrient content of the water and prevent dead zones. We use these types of algae to produce SEA LEATHER. In this way we can produce an environmentally friendly product without the use of fresh water. A closed loop system is created. Material production, processing and reuse take place in a local facility.
