BIOMATERIAL RESEARCH & REGENERATIVE DESIGN
How can design move beyond reducing harm towards actively contributing to ecological regeneration?
Bea has extensive experience working across research institutions, start-ups and academia. As a researcher, she develops biomaterials from algae, mycelium and bacteria, exploring regenerative design practices and post-capitalist systems. Her interdisciplinary team was awarded First Prize by the Fraunhofer Network Science, Art & Design. Her teaching and research experience includes institutions such as the Royal College of Art and HAW Hamburg.
FILM & THEATER
Bea Brücker works across film, theatre and performance, creating visual worlds through production design, costume and direction. She wrote and directed her first short film, Apocalypse Fatigue / Erschöpfung, starring Josephine Thiesen, and has worked as an assistant director on the production of 1984 (directed by Jasper Koch). She has collaborated with directors on performance projects, including those presented at the Maastricht Fashionclash Festival.
Together with Vincent Goos, she co-runs Studio Goos–Brücker, creating films, video installations and films through animation, costume, biomaterials and storytelling.
FASHION & COSTUME
With extensive experience as a fashion and costume designer, Bea has developed work for a diverse range of clients, films, performances, and theatre productions. Her practice has been recognized with prestigious awards, including the ARTS THREAD x Gucci Award for Sustainable Fashion & Textiles. Her work has been featured and presented internationally by Nick Knight’s SHOWstudio, KALTBLUT Magazine, 1 Granary, i-D Magazine, and others.
ART & EXHIBITIONS
Bea's practice includes installations, sculptures and Video works exploring our relationship with the more-than-human world and possible futures. She has exhibited internationally at institutions such as the Grassi Museum of Applied Arts Leipzig, Bucerius Kunst Forum and Future Forum New York, and created commissioned projects for partners including Westfield London. Her first solo exhibition was presented at FABRIC Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft.
